Margaret had been a faithful reader of Our Daily Bread for years. And when her vision deteriorated to the point where reading was no longer possible, her daughter Luella began reading her Our Daily Bread devotions to her each day. Now, though her mother Margaret has passed away, Luella still reads Our Daily Bread and recalls the special conversations about faith with her mother as some of the most precious times in her life.
“I live with my mother who can no longer read. She is in a vegetative state . . . I read the devotional to her every day, and often without understanding how, I see tears streaming down her face when she hears the Word of God. I am impressed, because although my mother is so ill, the Word of God, through Our Daily Bread, is alive and effective.”
